Youtube Meta Comment Aggregation.

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Attention internet: I understand that twitter is funny one-liner land, or whatever you think because that’s my probably final and determined determination of its purpose. One-liners and links and gratuitous Obama oversupportion. That’s the twitter answer.

But here’s the thing. There’s this site called youtube where I look at a lot of videos, some of which people put on the internet. They stream; it’s fucking crazy. Anyways, I talk back to these people because the internet is the land of backtalk and the sharplie-tongue’d quipz.

Next: youtube recently changed their thing to let you put your most recent comments on your channel page. IN ADDITION, there is now a page where you can view your comments.

I hereby submit my youtube comments in reverse chronological order for your perusal. Someone once called it “so funny”.

You should turn this feature on if you use youtube, and then throw me a link so I can do chu’kles t’our quips. That’s laughing at our smart response to stupid reality.

Bonus video because I can’t talk about youtube without offering a video that explicitly solicits unsolicited solicitations of critical materials (that’s you commenting about wha’ happen’d).

Do not watch this video from the internet. Don’t.

Mr. Pregnant wants nothing but to eat your children at tea. Don’t watch it.

Channy Awards 2007.

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

The Channel101 Incredibly Prestigious Achievement Awards happened. They’re pretty good picks. I missed a couple things and it’s awesome to have them dropped in my lap.

If you don’t know what Channel101 is (or Yacht Rock or Classroom), or didn’t know what the Channies are, Channel101 is a democratic faux television station model of video production that is screened in Los Angeles monthly and the Channies are its incredibly prestigious awards.

Yeah, that’s a serious Tim and Eric explanation of Channel101. Seriously. Channel101 was created by the authors of my favorite comic book ever.

This week’s adult swim roundup.

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

The Boondocks has become almost a frustratingly dumb show replicating finally in style and writing what it always replicated in visual design: shitty anime. This week was much, much better than the last, but the show is still very shallow. It’s a fun ripoff of the The Mighty Ducks ripping off The Bad News Bears or Slapshot or South Park or something.

Xavier’s not a big thinker this week, but it’s also not as gratuitously gratuitous. Some interesting ideas, but a lot of garbage that some people might accidentally take seriously.

The hook with Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job is that anything is fair game as long as it could possibly be considered funny by anyone. Or maybe it’s an inside joke. Or maybe it’s performance art (complete with everyday people performing in weird ways) blended into video art (complete with shitty vhs effects) and something worked. Steve Brule rules also. This week’s is about dolls but this clip isn’t (pull the timer to :50 to see what I’m saying):

video removed!

And Garth Marenghi was a weird, slight letdown.

Pattern Recognition: Free Absurdist Cable Television.

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Each of the big adultswim.com premieres this week are absurdist explorations of male-only parenthood. They’re so goddamn serious about being retarded that they can only be described at cutting-edge-ridingly hip.

  • Garth Marenghi’s main character acquires a baby man-eye that drives him a bit crazy.
  • Xavier finds himself in the care of seven babies after he steals them, and then solves the mystery of who stole them before he does a phoenix act.
  • Tim and Eric introduce their huge collection of cutting edge children, all conditioned and disciplined to be ready to active achievers in the next generation.
  • Boondocks hasn’t been getting along this season (unwatchable again this week), taking itself way the fuck too seriously.
  • Check the full Tom Goes to the Mayor episode this week entitled “Glass Eyes” to get an eyeful of retardedly serious nonsense.

Stupid serious is a serious phase of hilarity.

I follow up tomorrow.

I’m exhausting myself from lung gyration as I’m drowning myself in fucking balls-deep internet humor and it’s been quite a long time since I’d gotten to the thick of it. I’d link some up but fuck you.

It’s like this haven where the assholes of the world can practice their craft, and no one is really harmed unless they fit very specific guidelines. That’s entertainment. That shit can’t be sold, bought, or written.

If the old internet had hypertext, the new internet has hyperhumor, and other such words so unbelievabearably gay that they should not exist.

The power of THE WIKI is indeniable.

Everyone does poop.

Is it just a coincidence that both South Park and Lucy have shit jokes in them this week?

(probably)
