Suppose for one second that he was actually making these videos for fetish purposes; do you know of any porn stars that work that much? Know anyone that smokes that much? He hasn’t even been a youtube member for one year. That means he’s making 20 or more videos per day. To suffer the annoyances of youtube through even 100 videos shows dedication; to have created thousands of videos is on the level of something that happens only in William Gibson novels.

He subscribed to my youtube channel a few months ago. His videos are endless and hilarious and mysterious. I didn’t say anything until now because I thought it was a weird dream I had.

He’s one of today’s most viewed comedians on the site now.

Here’s hoping for humanity.

How far we’ve fallen. What was lost in MTV’s destruction will never be completely explained or retrieved. It’s sad, but at least we now have these things to take us back to those innocent times. It is still pathetic, however, that a Britney Spears video is the most viewed on this site. Have some fucking decency, people.

There’s much too much for mostly everyone to absorb. What a crazy year and then some. Tonight a crowd in Chicago amassed that was larger than the previous largest Chicago crowd I’ve ever witnessed. That previous crowd protested a wrongful war. Tonight’s crowd celebrated that very same war’s inevitable end, as the tip of an iceberg of progress.

New generations will never understand things we barely understood. They will be bewildered at our dark age of civil wrongs. The era will retire in history books, and be rarely read by future generations. Eventually, we will have completely moved on, and transformed once again into an ever more close-to-perfect union. We the people can continue our history of being the greatest experiment in rebellion the world has ever witnessed, with true freedom and equality as our standards of modern manifest destiny.

Or, if you believe the complete dipshits on television, the size of the government will double in the next six months, immediately after the minimum wage doubles. The politics of horseshit is dying. It has lost an information war of attrition. Modern young people see through old tricks, and armed with a level of apathy-turned-cynicism that could only be brought about by our last decade, they have no interest in a governing construct that serves nothing but itself. People understand that the government is theirs, and that they pay for it. They realize now that a political campaign can be honorable. We know the high road is virtuous.

As with every major political shift, there will be cultural changes. Rigid, stubborn ideas of old will fade and become even more obsolete than they were in the fucking 1990s. New waves of popular culture will happen as a result of today’s historic event. The internet will transmogrify old media by smashing it through the spaghetti factory. With a government that understands and embraces newer technology, we are on the verge of things we literally cannot imagine because they have never been experienced. This is our history, and this is our future.

We are overlooking a very bright horizon. It is blinding in one sense, and yet in another blindingly inspiring. All of the talk over the years of being unable to beat a broken system and being unable to overcome tightly held power is at an apparent impasse. We have shown ourselves and the world that we understand the condition our condition is in, and we’re ready to act upon it.

Imagine 60,000,000 Americans with elephant guns. Bill Hicks be avenged.

If you’ve always not cared about politics, this is the time to be reminded why about half the time and completely confused at what you’re hearing the other half. If you’ve been cynical about politics the past ten years or just have some suspicious fondness for Reagan you can’t explain, this is time to watch the best reality tv since the 80s.

If you’re a fan of information, history, debate, civics, economics, war, skepticism, technology, nuclear power, or generational culture pattern shifting, you might be less disappointed than you’d expect this year.

Next: youtube recently changed their thing to let you put your most recent comments on your channel page. IN ADDITION, there is now a page where you can view your comments.

I hereby submit my youtube comments in reverse chronological order for your perusal. Someone once called it “so funny”.

You should turn this feature on if you use youtube, and then throw me a link so I can do chu’kles t’our quips. That’s laughing at our smart response to stupid reality.

I’d like to formally recommend the album to anyone interested in film soundtracks or ambient type things in general. “Soundtrack to a Vacant Life” is described basically as it is titled, and while normally a much more aphexy musician, on this album he has toned and tuned everything to the pace of his life. This is a mostly relaxing trip through what I see as a truly grandiose statement of electronic music. This is a project I would do.

I’m intrigued by this phenomenon of a metal band here and there that are brutal as shit, yet end up being from some odd place (France? metal?) and have lyrics and themes out of left field (the environment? whales?).

A good example of how these out-of-nowhere combinations work very well is Gojira. It’s French technical death metal about environmental subjects. Flying Whales sounds like an Earth Day festival being torn down by whales with chainguns. You’d never think this stuff would be so epic, until you consider the big picture.

I am talking about the band Gojira and song Flying Whales. I’d let you hear it right now if Mog hadn’t got nerfed to uselessness by being bought by Rhapsody. You could say they got owned for being so shitty. The one use of the site is now ruin’d.

Oh, and I don’t feel like crawling all over the place looking for a flash mp3 player or something right this second. It’s always GIVE IT NOW with you people.

• Aqua Teen Hunger Force seems to be going on this odd journey with Carl and this new landlord guy, and the food people are nowhere to be found (they got cocooned I think). Carl is lured by the new neighbors, giving the episode the title “Sirens”. Lots of blood and innuendo.
• Tim and Eric erupts into a complete civil war. Steve Brule does a wine tasting. Full-on classic level of blood and puke. Honestly, WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?
• I gave up the on the Boondocks a couple weeks ago. It was a very disappointing decision to have to make.
• Squidbillies is inhumane, excessive, all over the place, on fire, genuinely unpredictable, and covered in hair. uh, all to save Rusty from dyslexia I think. Lots of blood and burns.
• That Crook’d ‘Sipp was classically southernly uncool, but it’s a pretty interesting pilot with great art that I missed a while back.

All shows this week contain seriously fucking traumatic injuries. Lot of boobs.

Not the best week but certainly an odd theme. I am getting convinced almost completely that they do coordinate the creation of these shows to the small degree necessary for them to share overarching themes.

I feel that he is more a statesman than a politician.

If you don’t know what Channel101 is (or Yacht Rock or Classroom), or didn’t know what the Channies are, Channel101 is a democratic faux television station model of video production that is screened in Los Angeles monthly and the Channies are its incredibly prestigious awards.

Yeah, that’s a serious Tim and Eric explanation of Channel101. Seriously. Channel101 was created by the authors of my favorite comic book ever.

This method has come under frequent use the past couple of years under what has become the insane modern umbrella of serious comedy.

With some comedy we are just past the point of jokes, where a joke can even be past itself, and this is that case. The real emphasis lies in drawing attention to the argument despite its pointlessness. This is a serious matter. This is acting; there’s an art form in excessively pigheaded lying.

Seem familiar? If you work in a bureaucratic environment, this crap tends to happen in real life! Politics? Watch a modern debate and tell me those guys are pushing lies to the point of comedy. They use this beyond circular reasoning crap as a debate tactic. It’s post-ironic.

The idea here is that using del.icio.us to do the work for you, it is possible to think about bookmarks, the internet, and navigation in a new way. The old way could be considered a rigid, organizational construct that is a leftover from a few decades of simple, common sense-based professional computing. This new way of approaching it is basically a by-product of the wholesale industry adoption of tagging, which is a construct of a lazy new generation really making computers do the work for them. The sad part is that this time laziness triumphs. Firefox makes it even easier.

If you don’t have a delicious account, go there and sign up, and then in the settings you will want to import or upload your current bookmarks. Don’t feel pressured; it took me about three years to do this.

From here, the flexibility of the system gets pretty insane. You can tag things however you want (for example, I didn’t tag anything old but tag everything new). This contrasts bookmarks in that there was only one place you could put one bookmark without duplicates. Now, you can have one bookmark with an endless amount of ways to organize and find it via infinite tags.

There’s more. You can subscribe to tags and get alerts from fairly specific triggers. You can add people to your network. You can add me and see what I mark. I watch people that I know have an eye for trends and the like. The great downfall of the networking on delicious is that right now (changing in 2.0) there is no simple way of inviting people or adding people; the only way is to visit their profile and hit add.

(Side note: you can bundle tags. This essentially means that you can tag tags. That drives me a little beyond the edge as it’s time to get less organized, not more!)

With all these benefits, a single notable negative trait, and the potential coming from the next version, not even I could continue to stubbornly insist on using browser-based, tagless, single-computer bookmarks. Thus, I recommend to others to join me in moving on (detailed usage video!).

Footnote: they’re called bookmarks, not favorites. That’s simple, settled, ancient terminology (and not even Microsoft can change it).
